Damp and mould

We are clear at settle that we take any reports of damp and mould in our properties extremely seriously. We want to make sure to the best of our ability and in line with our procedures that no settle resident lives in a property where there are ongoing confirmed signs of damp.

If any settle resident is experiencing damp or mould in your property, please get in touch to let us know. Damp and mould procedure final.pdf explains the steps we will take if you report damp or mould in your home to us.

We will first ask a series of questions to gain a better understanding of the problem and identify any immediate repairs. We will then carry out an inspection of your home.

Our inspector will look at every room, complete a full inspection and take meter readings in the affected rooms to understand more about what is happening and identify what can be done.

Our procedure explains that we usually aim to carry out these inspections within 5 working days of damp and mould being reported to us, but it is currently taking us a little longer than this.

This is due to recent vacancies in our team, as these inspections need to be carried out by specialists. We have now recruited to these roles. We continue to book in the inspections as quickly as possible and expect to be back to completing them within our 5 day target by the end of January 2022.

We still continue to do all we can to support any resident experiencing damp or mould in your home. Please continue to get in touch if this is affecting your property, letting us know as much as you can about the situation and your circumstances and we will do all we can to help.
