settle complete transfer of 138 homes from L&Q

L&Q announced proposals to transfer the homes, in Three Rivers, Watford and Dacorum, to settle in July this year. A consultation with residents to decide whether the transfer should go ahead took place during August. Following review of the feedback provided by residents, the decision to proceed with the transfer was made in October.

The transfer allows L&Q, one of the UK’s leading charitable housing associations to continue investing in its existing homes and develop high quality new homes while partnering with settle.

The transfer also complements settle’s growth aspirations and ensures that residents continue to receive great services from a local organisation.

Gavin Cansfield, chief executive at settle said:

“We’re delighted to complete the transfer of homes from L&Q and to welcome residents to settle.  This is a fantastic opportunity. Our focus at settle is on investing in good quality homes and neighbourhoods, working with local partners and drawing on our expertise to create places that are great to live in.

“We’re really looking forward to working with residents from Three Rivers, Watford and Dacorum and to helping them access the services and support we provide, so that we deliver on our purpose of helping them live comfortably in their homes.”

John Lumley, Strategic Sales Director at L&Q, said:

“As part of our commitment to providing a locally responsive service to all residents, we identified an opportunity to work in partnership with a fantastic housing provider in Hertfordshire, and I am delighted this deal has now completed.

"Throughout this process, engaging with and empowering our residents has been our top priority. We firmly believe that this stock transfer is in their best interests, and we are confident that settle will continue to provide an excellent service that residents can be proud of.”
