Local suppliers help our volunteer staff deliver two new community SOS projects!

Last year North Hertfordshire Homes employees volunteered to give something back to the local community with a one-day DIY SOS project for the Howard Garden Social Centre.

Encouraged by the impact it all had on the Centre’s staff and users, we’ve taken on two new one-day DIY SOS projects.

Spruce-up for Garden House Hospice Care volunteer area

Garden House Hospice Care is a well-loved Letchworth charity that relies heavily on the volunteers who sort, pack and organise all of the donated items from households and businesses.

We’ll be sprucing up the break-out area in their sorting facility, providing a fresh, relaxing space for volunteers to enjoy a nice cup of tea in between their important work and building some new desks for their administration of online auctions which raise lots of money for the charity.

Garden makeover for Scouts

Our second project is a garden makeover for the District Headquarters of Letchworth and Baldock Scouts.

The Scout movement does such great community work that this opportunity to give them something in return seemed too good to miss. Their Hall on Icknield Way in Letchworth is heavily used by Scouts and Beavers across North Herts, however the outside area and garden haven’t been touched in a long time so we’re going to give it a bit of tidy-up.

Donations help make it happen

We’ve already received fantastic support from some local businesses and this year T & S Decorating Ltd and RJB Building, both based in Hitchin have been first off the block with donations that will support this great initiative. Thank you!

Please contact us if your business would like to donate to the work we’ll be undertaking in September.
