Settle win industry award for recruitment and retention campaign
We’re delighted that our innovative onboarding programme, ‘Housewarming’, has been named Recruitment or Retention Campaign of the Year at the UK Housing Awards.
Launched in July 2023, Housewarming is a week-long induction programme designed to welcome new colleagues to Settle and support current team members transitioning into new roles.
It forms a vital part of our Continuous Professional Development initiative, which empowers colleagues to deliver outstanding services and support to residents.
To date, 108 new team members have participated in the programme, made possible by the dedication of colleagues who volunteered their time and expertise to host sessions showcasing their work areas.
Donna North, Executive Director of Central Services, said:
“We are truly honored to receive this award for Housewarming, which has been instrumental in ensuring new colleagues are fully immersed in our values and have a well-rounded understanding of our work and its role in the wider housing sector.
“I’m incredibly proud of our team at Settle, who have embraced this initiative wholeheartedly welcoming new colleagues, taking them into our neighborhoods, and showing them first-hand the impact of what we do. Huge congratulations to all the other finalists in this category—we felt privileged to be among such inspiring organisations.”
Recently we welcomed Alex Sinclair, a Settle resident to the Operations Committee at Settle. Alex took part in a condensed Housewarming and commented:
“What an impactful experience! The day was amazing, and if that’s a condensed version I can see why you won the award for your full housewarming events!
“From the moment I walked in everyone was so friendly and accommodating, you couldn’t have done more to make us feel comfortable and valued. Whilst visiting all the different departments, and speaking with several of your colleagues, what really stood out to me was how much people cared about their individual roles and your values as a whole.”
