Our Big Door Knock is coming to Westmill 9 – 17 July

Our next Big Door Knock is taking place across the Westmill neighbourhood from 9 to 17 July. This is when colleagues from across all of Settle, including members of our Exec team and Board knock on doors and talk to residents about what’s working well, what could be better, and what’s most important to you.
Previous feedback from residents has told us that the Big Door Kock survey was too long, and some questions didn’t feel relevant to you and your home. We’ve listened and this time you’ll be asked questions based on your property type, so you’ll only answer what’s relevant to you.
You may also be asked about things like:
- Communal cleaning and maintenance
- Bin areas
- Residents meetings
- Anti-social behaviour
- Damp and mould
This is your chance to tell us what you think and learn about what we’re doing to improve key areas.
Commitment to neighbourhoods
We’re committed to investing in our neighbourhoods, creating places where residents are proud to live and communities that are welcoming to all.
Our neighbourhood plans are shaped by local residents and partners, helping us focus on the areas that matter most to you and your community, to help us prioritise our resources.
This Big Door Knock follows our Neighbourhood Action Weeks in Westmill – where we’ve been getting out and about in the neighbourhood running events like litter picks, a skip day, a workshop event with tips to prevent damp and mould, as well as our teams sharing advice on reducing fuel bills and keeping homes warm, and support with money and debt.
Our knowledgeable teams were on hand at Westmill Community Centre sharing advice on preventing condensation, damp and mould, reducing fuel bills and keeping homes warm, as well as support with money and debt.
We’ve already heard lots of valuable feedback from Westmill residents through previous Big Door Knocks and other ways we gather your views. You can read more in the Westmill Neighbourhood Plan.
Not in when we knock?
We’ll pop a postcard through your door with a QR code so you can share your views online at a time that suits you.
Drop-in sessions
You can also come and have a chat with us over tea and biscuits at Westmill Community Centre. These are informal drop-ins, no need to book. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the neighbourhood plan and the topics you care about.
We’ll be there on:
- Wednesday 9 July, 11.30am–1pm
- Thursday 10 July, 3.30pm–5pm
- Tuesday 15 July, 1.30pm–3pm
- Thursday 17 July, 2.30pm–4pm
