Scam warning: Fake text messages about Winter Fuel Payments

We’ve been made aware of scam text messages claiming to be from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), offering support with Winter Fuel or Energy Allowance payments.
These messages are not genuine. They ask you to click on a link, but these links lead to malicious websites. Please do not click on them.
What to look out for
Some messages have been sent from these numbers and may include a link to a website:
- +63 908 306 9627
- +44 744 709 4289
What should I do?
If you receive a message like this:
- Do not click on any links
- Do not respond to the message
- Delete it straight away
You can report scam messages to the government’s phishing service by forwarding them to 7726 (it’s free) or take a screenshot of the text message and send it to [email protected].
