16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

We are supporting 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign calling for an end to violence against women and girls. The campaign runs from 25 November to 10 December 2025.
Across our work at Settle, we are committed to supporting residents and colleagues who may be experiencing domestic abuse.
Abuse can take many forms — emotional, financial, psychological, sexual, coercive, online, as well as physical. It affects people in all communities, and on average two women lose their lives each week in England and Wales at the hands of a partner or former partner (ONS, 2018).
We have colleagues who are trained to provide support or to connect individuals with specialist partner agencies. One of the partners we work closely with is Survivors Against Domestic Abuse, who provide a safe and supportive environment for victims to report abuse.
More information on the support we offer and the partners we work with can be found on our Domestic Abuse page.
If you or anyone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, please call us on 0330 343 0016 or get in touch so we can connect you with the right team. If you are in immediate danger, always dial 999.
White Ribbon Day – We Speak Up
White Ribbon Day is marked on the 25 November, and organised by the White Ribbon charity to engage men and boys in preventing violence against women and girls.
This year, the charity is calling on more men to use their voices — to speak up and help create a world where everyone is safe, equal and respected. Anyone can take part by sharing a photo or video on social media, at work, or with friends and family, explaining why they speak up for women and girls.
More information is available on the White Ribbon website.
Our Commitment to Make a Stand
We have signed the ‘Make a Stand’ pledge, committing ourselves to taking meaningful action to support anyone affected by domestic abuse.
Created by the Chartered Institute of Housing in collaboration with the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance and Women’s Aid, the pledge encourages housing associations like ours to do all we can to address domestic abuse and provide help to those experiencing it.
If you or someone you know needs help, please contact us on 0330 343 0016. You can also reach out to one of the specialist organisations listed on our dedicated support page.
