Warmer homes for 400 residents

Alicia Warm homes team

Ensuring residents are living in warm homes remains a priority for us. We are also working to ensure all our properties have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Band C or above by 2030 to meet the Government’s requirement.

So far 417 residents have received around 750 improvement measures to make their homes warmer.

A further 65 homes with an energy performance rating of ‘C’ or less will be completed by our new contractor, AD Construction by the end of March 2025.

In total £11.5m will have been invested in the homes, which was funded through a £5.2m government grant (Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund)  and £6.5m from Settle.

We’ve identified a further 1100 homes that could benefit from energy improvement work over the next five years. Funded by a new wave of Warm Homes government grant and Settle, we’ll roll out the £20m improvement works in phases.

During the next twelve months we want to make another 300 homes warmer for our residents in and around Baldock, Royston, Hitchin and surrounding villages.

Residents in these areas whose homes have an energy performance rating of less than ‘C’ will already have received a letter from us and a member from the Warm Homes team will be in touch soon.
