Investing in the Grange estate, Letchworth

Investing in the Grange estate, Letchworth

We first contacted residents and shopkeepers in November 2021 and asked them to share their views on investment in the Grange estate, specifically to homes and shops at Middlefield Court, The Parade and to Langleigh and Reynolds retirement living schemes.

Investing in homes

Our first priority at settle is to provide homes that are safe and comfortable for residents to live in. This includes meeting government requirements for the quality of homes we provide.

The existing properties in the areas mentioned are nearly 50 years old and in need of significant investment.

Over the coming years, to meet the standards required of landlords like settle we would need to update things including the windows, heating, electrics, roofing and insulation, as well as improving the communal areas and shop facilities. We will also need to replace kitchens and bathrooms in the homes we own.

Proposed Plans

Colleagues from settle have been in contact with the residents and shopkeepers to get their views on where they think investment is needed. We have welcomed comments and feedback and proposed plans and visuals have been drawn up by architects, which include these views.

If you have any questions or would like to make suggestions, please send us an email and a member of our team will respond.

Community Fun Day in 2022

We held an event at the Grange Fellowship Community Centre on Sunday 2 October 2022.

The event was an opportunity for us to share our new neighbourhood model for working collaboratively with you to create #basicallybrilliant neighbourhood services and a thriving place where you are proud to live.

Colleagues from settle were available to answer questions and listen to your ideas. If you would like to share ideas, please get in touch or send us an email with your ideas and one of the team will get back to you.
