We’re delighted to launch our new film on the development of John Barker Place on the Westmill estate in Hitchin.
The short film marks the start of work on the development site and gives a detailed overview of how the new buildings will look externally and internally when completed.
We’re also delighted to hear from Bim Afolami, MP for Hitchin and Harpenden; Councillor Martin Stears-Handscomb, Leader of North Hertfordshire District Council and Hitchin Oughton Ward Councillor; and local resident, Jude, about the benefits the development will bring to the Westmill community.
settle’s chief executive, Gavin Cansfield adds: “John Barker Place is a great example of the importance of partnership to make things happen. We are really lucky to be working with residents, local politicians and organisations who want the absolute best for John Barker Place. I think the agreed plans are really great news for everyone in the community – this will have good quality homes at the heart of it but also huge improvements for the neighbourhood.”
Phase 1 of the development will deliver 37 homes and two commercial units in Summer 2022. Phase 2, which is scheduled to begin in Spring 2022, will deliver 46 news homes in Autumn 2023.
Keep up to date with updates on our John Barker Place page.
