Launching our British Sign Language service with SignLive

We’re proud to support Deaf Awareness Week (5- 11 May) with the launch of our British Sign Language (BSL) service in partnership with SignLive, helping us continue to be inclusive of the deaf community.
What is SignLive?
SignLive enables deaf residents to contact us free of charge using a video interpreter. The interpreter appears on the resident’s mobile, tablet, or computer, helping them communicate with us in real time. We launched the service in response to a request from a deaf resident.
How to use it
If a resident isn’t already signed up to SignLive, they can register for free at www.signlive.co.uk. Once registered, they’ll receive a unique extension number, making it easy for Settle colleagues to contact them directly through the service in the future.
Colleagues who are out in the community can also offer the remote video interpreter service to communicate with a deaf person should they wish to use it. Watch the video below to learn more and see how easy it is to access this service.
