Westmill in action!

Litter picking Nov24 1

We’re committed to investing in our neighbourhoods, creating places where residents are proud to live and communities that are welcoming to all.

From the 24 June to 3 July, we are hosting a number of events as part of our Neighbourhood Action Weeks.

We’d love for you to join us at these drop-in events, share what matters most to you, and give us your thoughts about your local neighbourhood.

Wednesday 25 June (AM)
Drop in at the Westmill  Community Centre for practical advice on preventing condensation, damp and mould in the home, tips to help keep fuel bills down and homes warm, as well as money and debt advice.

Thursday 26 June (all day)
Our teams will be visiting Oughton Primary School to discuss important issues related to litter and recycling. Join us afterwards for a litter-picking session in the area.
We will also have a skip available at the community centre for residents to get rid of unwanted items and we will offer a collection service for those in the area aged 60 and above or those unable to get to the skip. If you’d like to receive extra support with waste removal, let us know at [email protected].

Friday 27 June and Wednesday 2 July (all day)
We’ll be making improvements to green spaces and communal areas, tidying up and cleaning pathways and flowerbeds.

Thursday 3 July (PM)
If you are over the age of 70 and living in the Westmill area, we’re inviting you to join Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue and Police teams for an older persons’ activity, learning, and safety event at Kingfisher House.

Full information is available in the calendar of events. We look forward to seeing you!

Westmill Big Door Knock, 7 July – 17 July

The Neighbourhood Action Weeks will be followed up with Big Door Knock in the Westmill neighbourhood between 7 July – 17 July.

The Big Door Knock is now an established event in our calendar where members of our Board, executive team and colleagues from teams across Settle go out to meet residents in their homes to find out how they are doing and if there is any more we can do to improve our services.

We will keep you updated on the feedback we receive from residents through this Big Door Knock on our website.

For more information about the Big Door Knock, please visit our webpage on how we collect your feedback.
