Important information if you’ve contacted the Housing Ombudsman

The Housing Ombudsman Service has reported an IT security incident that may have affected the personal information of anyone who has made direct contact with them.

What does this mean for you?

If you have not contacted the Housing Ombudsman, you will not have been affected by this incident. If you’ve contacted the Housing Ombudsman, there’s no need to take any immediate action, but it’s worth being extra careful with unexpected calls, emails or text messages, particularly from unknown sources.

Be cautious if someone asks you to share personal information or click on a link, particularly if they claim to be from an organisation you know or are asking you to take urgent action.

Always verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent a trusted organisation before sharing information. If you’re unsure, contact the Housing Ombudsman directly using its official contact details.
