Your property survey
Every 5 years we’ll carry out a thorough survey of your home. This survey is to check the condition of the property and see if any major maintenance work* is needed or will need doing in the next few years.
* Major work can include replacing the windows, kitchen, bathroom, roof and other larger jobs like installing insulation.

Nothing right now. One of our surveyors will be in touch in the next few weeks to arrange an appointment with you for them to carry out the survey.
Usually, one of our surveyors from settle will do the survey, but sometimes we use contractors. Either way, when we make the appointment with you, we’ll tell you who’ll be coming.
It takes about an hour, but sometimes it can take a bit longer if the property has more rooms or features.
Yes. The surveyor will need to access every room in your property including the loft/roof space (they’ll bring their own ladder).
They’ll also look at the general structure of the property including any communal or shared areas.
The survey is to inspect the condition of the property and the surveyor won’t be able to tell you if you’ll get things like a replacement kitchen or windows.
The information they gather in the survey will be used to plan these kinds of jobs over the coming years, but we obviously carry out major work in a prioritised way. When your major work is due, we’ll contact you and arrange this with you.
