settle appoints executive director of finance and resources

We are pleased to have appointed Ebele Akojie as our new Executive Director of Finance and Resources.

Ebele brings a wealth of finance and resource experience from senior roles, having worked in social housing for over 20 years. Currently working at Southern Housing Group, Ebele was previously Chief Finance Officer at One Housing Group and prior to this held senior roles at Genesis and Moat Housing. She is also an experienced housing association Board member, currently holding the role of audit committee member and treasury committee chair at Golding Homes.

Ebele’s appointment ensures we remain in a strong position to deliver our 2024 vision and priorities. Ebele joins Hasani Jess who was recently appointed as technology specialist to our Board and Sally Veitch who joined as settle Chair in late 2020.

We remain on track to deliver 1500 new homes by 2024. Our priorities include ongoing investment in existing homes and neighbourhoods and delivering customer-focussed services that continue to meet the changing needs of all residents, along with funding and delivering against decarbonisation targets.

Ebele starts her new post at settle in mid-October 2021.

She said “I am delighted to be joining the settle team at such an important time for the organisation. I am really looking forward to working with settle colleagues, the Executive team and Board.

“I look forward to working together to deliver the priorities set out in the organisation’s current corporate plan, and to help shape future plans and investment to ensure we continue delivering the best possible outcomes for all settle residents, colleagues and neighbourhoods.”
