Keeping pets

Keeping pets

Please check your tenancy agreement first. Some agreements allow you to keep domestic pets and others don’t. If you’re unsure please contact us and we’ll let you know if you can keep a pet or not.

If you do keep a pet, you must look after it and:

  • Not allow it to cause a nuisance or distress to others
  • Not allow it to cause damage to property or communal areas
  • Clean up after your pet whether it be in your garden, a communal area or other parts of your neighbourhood
  • If you want to install a cat or dog flap you’ll need to request permission from us

Dogs

If an existing tenant already owns an XL Bully dog, then they must obtain our written permission as per the tenancy agreement.

They would also need to evidence that they have a Certificate of Exemption, required by law from 1st February 2024. The tenant would also be expected to meet the criteria as a responsible dog owner.

A dog should be kept on a lead and not allowed to roam free in communal areas.
