Keeping pets

Keeping pets

If you would like to request permission to keep a pet, please use our online pet permission request form using the button below.

If you do keep a pet, you must look after it and:

  • not allow it to cause a nuisance or distress to others
  • not allow it to cause damage to property or communal areas
  • clean up after your pet, whether this is in your garden, a communal area or other parts of your neighbourhood
  • If you want to install a cat or dog flap you’ll need to request permission from us

Dogs

If an existing tenant already owns an XL Bully dog, they must obtain our written permission in line with the tenancy agreement.

They must also provide evidence that they have a Certificate of Exemption, as required by law from 1 February 2024. The tenant would also be expected to meet the criteria of a responsible dog owner.

A dog should be kept on a lead and must not be allowed to roam free in communal areas.

If you want a slightly tighter version for web, use this line before the button instead:
