To see how we can offer a great start to your working career, support and training; with fantastic rewards and benefits, read our colleague Tom’s story.

Tom, Electrical Qualified Supervisor started at settle as an electrical apprentice ten years ago when he finished school. He completed his training in four years and received an NVQ level 3 qualification and City and Guilds Inspection and Testing qualifications.

Tom shares his experience: “I have been at settle now for ten years and work in the office where my role is to oversee the contractors who carry out electrical checks and repairs on properties.

“Throughout my time at settle, I’ve been supported to continue my training and keep updated on electrical regulations and had the opportunity to increase my qualifications.

“An apprenticeship was 100% the right move for me. A university setting is not for everyone. By completing an apprenticeship – I think you mature quickly, you learn common sense and good life skills – it really helped to build my confidence. You can also earn while you learn – I even managed to buy my first home a few years ago.”
